Threads Facelift Q and A

threads-faceliftWhat is a Thread Lift?
Thread lift involves the insertion of dissolvable sutures under the skin to create a mechanical lift.

This lift is sustained for up to to three years by the collagen stimulating effect of the threads.

How do they work?
The threads are therefore inserted after the application of local anaesthetic.

They can be tightened to create a mechanical lifting on the face or tissues. While in place, these threads then stimulate the production of your natural collagen.

What areas can be treated?
Almost all areas of the face and neck can be treated including “Jowl” lines (hanging cheeks along the jaw line), “naso-labial” lines (around the corners of the mouth) loss of mid face volume (“mid face ptosis”) , brow ptosis ( sagging of the upper face) as well as a sagging neck (“turkey neck.”)

How long do the results last?
Results can last up to 3 years, depending on the type and number of threads used and the areas treated.

Is it painful?
These procedures are minimally invasive, that is to say that they can be done in the office under local anaesthetic.

There is no cutting or incisions made. The threads are passed under the skin via a small needle. Most people can return to work the same afternoon.

How long does it take?
Less than 30-45mins after the application of local anaesthetic.

Is it suitable for everyone?
No. It is best to consult the doctor to determine if it is suitable for you.

What is the Korean “V” lift?
This is an extreme face reshaping procedure made famous in Korea.

Dr Sam Aravinth has trained under Dr Kyungkook Hong (Hus-Hu Dermatology Clinic) to become proficient in this procedure.

The “V” shape is achieved with the use of both dermal fillers and threads.

What are the risks?
Please note that every procedure caries potential side effects and these are best discussed with your doctor at the time of the consultation.
